We performed a complete revamp and replacement of the original aging stormwater system at the Rutland Intermediate School Campus. Our work included replacing ten plus catch basins, several hundred feet of storm drain around existing utilities, and two large precast filtration systems. We also installed trench drains, and completed the concrete curbing and paving. This work brought the system into compliance with current Act 250 and 3-Acre rule standards.
We completed several key repairs to preserve the longevity of the road that survived the dike and control tower at Colebrook River Lake. This work included several large gabions basket retaining walls to replace failed stone retaining walls, the replacement of a large roadside intake structure, and the replacement of Intake headwalls.
The 2023 flood severely damaged the original headwall on the Chadburn Lane bridge, this put the structure at high risk of failing in any future flood event. We were tasked with rebuilding the 15 foot high wingwall in a manner that would match the original, and blend with the scenic landscape that surrounds it. This was accomplished using large armoring stone and some creative placement and positioning.This ensured stability in future flood events.
We completed river bank armoring at two sites for the town of Ripton. This work corrected previous flood damages and will insure a long term projection for the houses and roads immediately adjacent to the damaged areas.
At Poultney Elementary School we completed a stormwater retrofit project to bring the site into compliance with current Act 250 and 3-Acre rule standards. This working included instilling a stone diaphragm and some significant guarding to ensure water is retained and infiltrated on site.
For this project we were tasked with creating a central utility hub for bathroom trailers within the Townsend Lake Campground. This involved locating and tying into existing underground utilities, as well and the installation of a concrete pad and fiberglass building. The interior of the building was upfitted to serve as the utility hub, providing water, electric, and sewer.
Located along the banks of the beautiful Deerfield river is Moover Transit’s Wilmington Base. In order to comply with current Act 250 and 3-Acre stormwater rules, we were required to install a biofiltration system along the banks of the river. This system included a few hundred yards of specialty soil trucked in from Boston, along with several hundred plants.
This project involved the replacement of a failed under slab waterline, while creating minimum mange and not affecting operations. After penetrating the concrete floor we used a vacuum excavator to extract soil from the interior of the building. Outside we exposed the bottom of the service connection at the curbstop. After removing the elbows where were able to pull a new poly line through the existing galvanized line, minimising damage.
Continued erosion problems at the town beach lead to a need for change. We constructed a new stormwater system to halt the erosion and improve the usability of the space. Our work included three bioretention basins, a stone staircase and retaining wall, stone lined ditching, trench drains, gutter piping, as well as the landscape platings.
We have completed various different resident new construction projects for customers across Central and Southern Vermont. Each site is unique and challenging in its own way. We love to see the site’s progress, and the customer’s vision come to life.
We have completed numerous stunning and bold stonework projects. These include natural stone patios, stone staircases, stone retaining walls of all sizes, tree paintings, as well as landscape design services.
